The Walking Group at Lullingstone Country Park

On Thursday 24 January we visited the Country Park at Lullingstone

This is location that we have visited before and it proves to be an invigorating experience.

Starting at about 10.30am, the temperature was slightly below zero, we chose the Lullingstone Loop, a route that was just under five miles.

Starting clockwise from the main gate, there was a climb to the top of the park, with some patches of snow encountered. Crossing the golf course at several locations, the snow was evident on the greens and bunkers, golfers were conspicuous by their absence, probably waiting for the delivery of orange balls!

The last leg took us along the course of the River Darent from the Roman Villa, passing Lullingstone Castle and returning to the car park at noon.

Hot tea and lunch, before leaving at about 1pm for home.

If you would like to join us on our Thursday walks, please speak to Val, Cherry, Nick, Phil or Karen at church on most Sundays.
