Members of Ss Peter & Paul contribute to the life and work of the church in lots of different ways. Whilst the information in this section relates to giving of a financial nature, other areas of our website explain the different ways in which you are able to get involved and contribute to our ministries.
We encourage you to make use of the Gift Aid scheme. If you pay sufficient Income Tax or Capital Gains Tax and make a Gift Aid declaration, your gift will be worth an extra 25% to the church at no extra cost to you. In 2011 the church recovered over £7,200 under the Gift Aid scheme. If you have not already done so, please contact our Treasurer in confidence for a Gift Aid declaration.
There are a number of ways you can give:
- Standing Order: By far the easiest form of giving and helpful for our budget predictions. If you would like to set this up please contact our Treasurer in confidence.
- Collection: A collection is taken at our Sunday services. Cheques should be made payable to “Leybourne PCC”.
- Yellow Gift Aid Envelopes: These are available in church (if you do not wish to sign a Gift Aid declaration).
- Will: If you would like to consider making a legacy in your will, please consult your solicitor. You can also get a free information pack to help you, visit; www.churchlegacy.org.uk, email firstname.lastname@example.org or phone the Church's Legacy and Wills information line on 08445870875.
The money we raise is not used solely for the running of the church. AWAY GIVING is also important to us. In 2011 we gave over £3,300 to various good causes such as World Vision, RSPCA and the Poppy Appeal. In addition our Harvest Festival supported Pilsdon, West Malling and the toys donated at the December Toy Service were given to the Women's refuge in Maidstone. Over £2,200 was raised for Christian Aid in 2011.
If you are interested in making a gift to the running of the church please contact our Treasurer in confidence.
Many thanks for your support.
Since 2012 a group of local residents have been working hard to create a fundraising group to try to obtain funding and sponsorship from outside of Leybourne community to donate to charity.
So far the group now known as MAD Starfish have held a very successful Easter fete and cake sale and raised enough money to enter the Dragonboat festival at Bewl Water on 15th September 2012; at which we raised £6000 for Winstons Wish.
MAD Starfish is currently set up through Ss Peter and Paul church Leybourne, and the group members are all very passionate about doing something to help others in need. Our hope is to become an established charity and to do much more to raise money for charity. Our website www.madstarfish.org.uk is currently under construction but we hope it will be up and running soon with further information about future events.
